They hand make fine basketware, traditional manuscripts and calenders etched into dried lontar palm leaves and they are famous for their beautiful double ikat cloth which is perhaps the world's most labour intensive textile and one of the only places in South East Asia where it is produced.
TITAGANGGA (Meaning "holy water from the Ganges") WATER PALACE is the best surviving example of Bali's Royal Water Palaces. Built in 1947 by the last king of Karangasem. the complex consists of beautiful maintained gardens, a sacred spring, a cold spring fed pool, lotus ponds and fountains. Bathing is permitted in the pools for a small fee and changerooms are provided.
